Longway to go

This trailer for Sacrebleu Productions film ‘Longway North’ (due around 2015 ..oh the torment of patience) is beautiful from the first frame to the last. Such a mastery of colour and composition. Beautiful.

Tipsy and Lala

Like Michel Gondry was dropped on his head whilst watching a Rainbow marathon as a child, here emerges this brilliant piece of nonsense from the minds at THIS IS IT. Sometimes creativity benefits from the lack of boundries and the anything goes mentality, but also the secret desire to subverse the minds of others via glove puppetry.

Boxy, but good

Love the look of this Superbrothers short from a few years ago - I'm positive anyone around my age that lived through the birth and adolescence of gaming and home computing gets that similar tingle of nostalgia from such pixel art (it's also, as you didn't ask, partly where my tendency for a polygon style filters from).

Also a bit in love with the Jim Guthrie noise in this - like the end of the world, if it'd happened in 1989.

Superbrothers (again with Jim Guthrie on beeps and whistes) also have a very similarly tasty looking iPad game out that I will never play unless Apple start giving away free tablets in cereal boxes, alas.

Outdoors, inner cities

This animated promo piece for the Trees For Cities charity is all kinds of beautiful. I love the painterly style and wonderfully smooth animation by Kristian Andrews. The sound is perfectly suiting too.

Another amazing crafted thing which makes me instantly question why I even attempt to do anything, ever.

Contains traces of NUTS.
